Harry Duncan 11st Champion of England
Private William Palmer Ex 1st Leicestershire Regiment
Army and navy Champion
Private Palmer of the 1st Leicestershire regiment, has had a short carer as a boxer,
and the way he has come to the front is little short of marvellous. It was just over
two years ago when he had he's first serious contest.
In 1910 he surprised every one by wining the Army and Navy championship ,and it
was no fluke was proved by the fact that he repeated the performance last year.
he is a fearless boxer and his style is very distinctive one. There is no finesse but he
is wonderfully quick. and is processed of a terrible punching power, and it will indeed
take a good man to withstand his hurricane methods for many rounds. He is aspiring
to higher game, and has challenged any middleweight in England. Jim Sullivan preferred.
He is only young yet, and he has plenty of time to come on, but there is no doubt that
he has a great future before him. He is always in fine condition and strips better than
any other boxer seen in Leicester. All hard muscle ,he does not process an once of
superfluous flesh, and there is no doubt that he will go far yet, and his career will be
watched with greatest interest.
